Eyad Al-Olaimat is a Jordanian youth activist and the founder and director of the ALWASET for Community Awareness and Development (ACAD), a nonprofit organization that aims to provide awareness national projects using new communication technology to support and facilitate the participation of citizens in political life.
ALWASET’s projects include, ENTIKHABATE in Jordan & iElect in India. Both of these projects aim to raise the level of political awareness among citizens, enhance their involvement in politics, and facilitate communications between elected officials and their constituents using the natural online platform (Mobile App, Website and Social media).
In recognition of Eyad’s work, he was selected as a 2017 BADIR fellow for young Jordanian social entrepreneurs, as a 2018 fellow to the American Middle Eastern Network for Dialogue at Stanford University (AMENDS) and as a 2018 Leaders for Democracy Fellow (LDF).
Prior to his work with ALWASET, Eyad worked as an Android developer program engineer at Telecommunications Company. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communications Engineering from Princess Sumaya University for Technology in Jordan, and a Master’s degree in Mobile and High-Speed Telecommunications Networks from Oxford Brookes University
